Croschere sentenced for high-speed chase

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette woman who pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery in September has been sentenced.

Cassie Croschere, 22, was apprehended by Ishpeming Police during their investigation of drug overdose cases at a residence on School Street.  Croschere allegedly fled the house, jumped into the driver’s seat of another person’s car while someone was in the passenger seat, and led police on a high-speed chase.  She was arrested after the passenger grabbed the steering wheel and the car crashed.

Croschere was originally charged with carjacking and fleeing and eluding.  She pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery and Thursday was sentenced to four to 15 years in prison with credit for 87 days already served.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
