A Northern Michigan University student organization's mission is to bring you music you may not have heard.
Northern Michigan Artist Discovery, or NOMAD, has brought multiple up-and-coming artists to NMU's campus, offering free concerts for students. Their mission is to promote local and underground music by giving bands a platform to perform on campus. The group is run by a staff of Northern students and funded by the Student Activity Fee. The group has brought such acts to NMU like Cherry Glazerr, Vundabar, and Spooky Mansion.
NOMAD will continue its tradition of bringing local, regional, and underground musicians and bands to the NMU community with their Spring Fever concert, taking place Thursday, April 4th. The concert will feature Husbands, Pretty Jane, and local band, The Casper Fight Scene.
Kurt Hauswirth spoke with Amber Wager, a third-year forensic biochemistry major at NMU and the social media coordinator for NOMAD:
NOMAD presents the Spring Fever concert featuring Husbands, Pretty Jane, and The Casper Fight Scene on Thursday, April 4th at the Northern Center Grand Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 pm with music starting at 7. The show is free with an NMU ID or $10 for the general public.
