CHATHAM, MI--   A Skandia woman has been killed in a two-vehicle crash in Chatham. 

State Police from the Negaunee Post were called around 7:50 Tuesday night to the intersection of M-94 and M-67.  They say a vehicle driven by Peggy Sue Larsen, 50, of Skandia was westbound on 94 when she slowed or stopped at the stop sign on 67, then proceeded into the intersection.  She drove into the path of a northbound vehicle, which hit Larsen’s vehicle directly in the driver’s side door.  Both vehicles went off the road and hit an electric pole.

BAY MILLS TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Chippewa County woman is dead after her car crashed and caught fire. 

Sheriff’s deputies were called Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. to Lakeshore Drive just east of Ranger Road in Bay Mills Township.  They say a vehicle driven by Rita Sayles, 69, of McNearny Lake failed to negotiate a curve, left the road, hit several trees, and caught on fire with Sayles trapped inside. 

UPDATE, 6/19:  The Delta County Sheriff's Office says the man who was killed in the accident was John Miron, 29, of Bark River.  A passenger of his car and two passengers of the westbound truck remain hospitalized.  The accident remains under investigation.

DELTA COUNTY, MI--   One person has been killed in a two-vehicle accident in Delta County. 

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Skandia man has been killed in a two-vehicle accident in Chocolay Township. 

State Police from the Negaunee Post say the crash happened Sunday around 10 p.m. on US-41 South at Hillcrest Trail.  Investigation reveals Duncan Ryan-Ross, 25, of Skandia was southbound on 41 when he went off the right side of the roadway.  He over-corrected his vehicle, which traveled back onto the roadway, crossed the centerline, and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Megan Niemi, 24, of Marquette.

PESHTIGO, WI--   A 76-year-old Wisconsin woman has been killed in a crash with an ambulance in Marinette County. 

Sheriff’s deputies say the accident happened Tuesday morning at the intersection of US-41 and Access Road #3 in Peshtigo.  A Delta County ambulance with driver, EMT and patient was southbound in non-emergency mode when a car pulled out of the access road into its path.  The car was hit broadside and pushed into the northbound lanes of the highway.  The ambulance crossed the median and came to rest on some railroad tracks.

COVINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Champion man has died in a single-vehicle accident in Baraga County. 

The truck of Matthew Davidson, 56, was found on the side of US-41 about a mile east of Kings Lake Road in Covington Township.

Investigation indicates Davidson’s vehicle was eastbound when he lost control on the wet and snowy highway, crossed the centerline, and hit a snowbank.  The truck ended up on its side. 

Davidson was the only occupant of the vehicle.  

Multiple fatalities in Menominee County accident

DAGGETT, MI (AP)--   Authorities say three children have died in a crash on a snowy highway in Menominee County. 

Sheriff Kenny Marks says 40-year-old Susan Meade of Daggett was driving her children in a van on U.S. 41 on Monday night when she lost control and veered into a semitrailer's path. He says the semitrailer driver tried to avoid hitting the van but struck it in the side.

Marks says 14-year-old Michael McCue, 12-year-old Maxwell McCue and 11-year-old Joelle McCue were killed.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI--   An Upper Peninsula man is being blamed for a fatal two-vehicle accident in downstate Grand Traverse County.  

The crash happened Tuesday around 1:30 a.m. on US-31 South.  Sheriff’s deputies say an eastbound vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Brimley man crossed the centerline and hit a westbound vehicle.  A 71-year-old Florida woman was pronounced dead at the scene.  Three other people in the westbound vehicle were taken to Munson Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. 

HYDE, MI--   Police have released the names of those involved in a fatal traffic crash Monday on US-2/41 in Delta County.  

Sheriff’s deputies say Edward Paquin, 83, of Spaulding was eastbound around

2 p.m. near Hyde when his pickup truck crossed the centerline.  It struck a westbound motor home driven by Arnold Parson, 69, of Daggett.  A vehicle being towed behind the camper was apparently hit by a third vehicle driven by Anthony VanDamme, 59, of Rock. 

Rhinelander man dies during police chase

RHINELANDER, WI (AP)--   Authorities say a 27-year-old Rhinelander man was trying to flee police when he lost control of his car and died in a crash. 

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department says a Rhinelander police officer was trying to stop a vehicle for speeding around 8:30 a.m. Monday.  A chase began, and the driver—identified as Sean O’Corrain—left the roadway and ran into the ditch.  He died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
